Hi Angy! I read your posts both on " Through the Tunnel and Silk Scarf". Let me start with Through the Tunnel. You did very well in this short story although you used some sms language. I will reward you 8/10. On the other hand, I believe you read and understoond the Silk Scarf very well because as you summarised your plot someone will understand the story without reading the original text. Hi Mr Professor!
Thank you for posting your Silk Scarf on time. I read it a in few minutes ago. The plot is rocking but you used some informatin which are not main ideas ? I will reward you 8/10. thank you.

Silk Scarf







·         SETTINGS- Oriental plaza in Johannesburg, a shopping Centre where the shops are owned by Indian people.
PLOT
The story is about a woman called Mrs. Nebo who had friend Margaret and they like shopping together. One day as they entered the gate of Oriental plaza, they stopped in the car park. Two ladies wearing expensive clothes and jewellery. Mrs. Nebo was the wife of the man whom to be the foreign ministry in the new government. They entered the portals of the plaza. They wandered from shop to shop and bought some important things. While they were shopping, Mrs. Nebo saw an Indian dress through the window and decided to buy it. She asked for the silk scarf from that shop, but there was nothing suiting her. So, she went in Moghul boutique where she found a perfect silk scarf she wanted. She decided to buy it. Since she did not have enough money to pay cash, she demanded to pay with a cheque. Unfortunately in that store they don’t accept cheques. The women and Mr Sakur (shopkeeper) started arguing. The women wanted Mr Shakur to accept the cheque but he refused because he wanted to be fair to all customers. The people from nearby shops came to see what was happening. Mr Sader (Mr Shakur’s friend) advised Mr Sakur to accept the cheque because he was worried about what will happen when he didn’t, after he heard that the woman is the wife of a very important person. Mr Sader gave his friend money for the scarf and gave the scarf to Mrs Nebo as a gift from traders in the plaza. She thanked traders and left immediately


MAIN CHARACTER
Mrs. Nebo-a rich woman since she wears expensive clothes and jewellery and lived in a mansion. She buys things of best quality.  She always get what she want in life because she was pleading for a scarf until it was given to her as a gift.She like putting herself at high classes. Walking with bodyguards behind her back..Mr Sakur is also a main character. He is a short,a very thin looking man. He wears the antique brances. A man who likes being fair to all people, whether rich or poor. He is stuborn since he refused to accept the cheque from the woman after hearing who the woman was. Mr. Sakur was a muslim

Through the tunnel

Setting:On the beach
Place:During summer


Plot:The short story is about a young English boy(named Jerry) who went to the beach with his mother.On their second day ,the mother  wanted to walk around .The son  decided not to go ,because he wanted to go see the rocks that he saw from a distance.While he was swimming ,he met four boys and greeted him.He dint respond  and they thought he might be a foreigner.He kept on swimming and was a good swimmer. One of the big boys went under water for long and Jerry started to shout, thinking the boy might be drawning.In the blind of an eye he saw the boy coming from the other side of the sea .Jerry wanted to immitate  ,but did not manage at first and he bleeded .The next day he repeated the same process but improved and he blo find out that he bleeded badly that day .He went back to the vila and he did not wanted his mother to find out that he bleeded.In short, the mother described him as a good swimmer , because he told the mother that he stayed under water. This is incredible.

Main character:
Jerry the young English boy at the age of eleven.He lived with his mother who is a widow. He is self confident, because he tries things which are dangerous. He is a good swimmer, it is stated in the story. He likes to stay on his own. he likes to explore nature as he wanted to pass through the hole in the  rock. He is a good well behaved boy.

This is the most uninteresting, superlatively badly -written short story I've ever read. It is worse, more worse than a ridiculous romance novel. Dorris Lessing must be the most untalented writer who has ever made it into print.And I will not recomment this story to anyone....
